James Metivier has had the honor of representing his district as a town councilor for 8 years. During that time, he has had the privilege of being a voice for the residents of Cumberland - working with the town council, the Mayors office, and various town departments. For too many years, James has seen Rhode Island rank last or next to last in so many areas: the worst state to start a business, one of the worst states for housing affordability, high taxes and regulations, etc. James has witnessed the promise of our Democratic values - fairness, equality, equal opportunity, a strong middle class, in short, the American Dream - too often get traded away to special interests, by people who are profiting from the status quo.
